Friday Fun

After a suuuper busy week around the office, I am looking forward to a weekend of fun that is filled with laughter & memories & maybe a cocktail or two.

Before this little lady was born, I stumbled across a precious outfit in Charleston & knew it had to be SaySay's. I cannot believe:
 a. how stinkin' cute she is in it & b. that she is big enough to actually wear it?!
Me & the hubs LOVE our nieces :)

By definition, the word 'change' means to make the form, nature, content, future course, etc., of something different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone.

See the word 'change' has effected me alot in the last year...I've changed from 'single' to 'engaged' to 'married' job has changed significantly...friendships have changed...where I'm at in life has changed...because of all these changes, I'm happier than I ever thought was possible.

However, sometimes when changes happen, we cannot see the good in a situation until the dust settles and things become crystal clear.

"Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change - this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-confidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress." -Bruce Barton

Loving this song.
Thank you KC for finally putting out some good music again.

Ever since we returned home from the islands, we have been non-stop busy {cleaning the house from top to bottom, projects around the homestead, mounds of laundry, dinner dates with friends & family}...hence we are looking forward to slowing down for a bit and enjoying "doing nothing"...I don't even know what that feels like anymore?!

The question asked everyday-"Does being married feel any different?"

The answer is yes.

It feels amazing.

It's a feeling that can't really be described but makes my heart feel warm & fuzzy.

It's a feeling of calm and settled.

Today I had to venture to the courthouse to get the necessary paperwork needed for all the name changing fun-I must have missed the memo that was sent out asking for all of the crazy people to report downtown promptly at 2:00. Seriously, that places scares me.

I have gotten a ton of new recipes recently & cannot wait to get into the kitchen for some cooking!

Side note for my Kel-there are 71 days until the first day of fall.

St. Thomas

Honeymoon = the best week ever.

Flew from Charlotte to ALT, ALT to St. Thomas  :)

When you step off the plane and head to baggage claim and the first thing you see is a bar, you know you are in good hands. Cheers!

Side note-Carib beer is the bomb diggity.

View from our room @ the Ritz.

Heading to Red Hook for dinner & drinks...nightly ritual that lead to new friends & many memories made.

View of the marina from ITP...yes, that is the way the sky looked most the days that we were there. Here's the thing, a rainy day in the islands beats a sunny day sitting at the office ANY DAY.

This is St. Thomas's take on taxi's.
Nothing makes you feel safer than traveling at 50 miles an hour, through the mountains than an open air cattle car.

One might glance at JWB swimming in the ocean and think this is an innocent picture...let me explain: moments after taking this shot, a HUGE stingray decided to play hide & seek with hubs. I did not find the humor.

My personal bartender.

Drink of the week: whiskey sours

Iguanas were EVERYWHERE on St. Thomas...I have to admit, they were pretty cool!

On day three, we did a full day of island hopping on an aweseome speed boat.

First stop-St. John

From St. John to Virgin Gorda this girl got VERY sea my BFF Kel would put it-I thought I was going to YAMMY.

Feeling better...snorkeling time! We saw some of the most beautiful fish we've ever seen!

Lunch on Marina Cay.

The last destination of our trip was at Jost Van Dyke...GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS water + Soggy Dollar bar = an afternoon I will never forget.

Relaxed beach side followed by Red Hook fun.

Drinks @ Bambooz

FRIDAY (our last day, tear)

We decided to start off our day with some champagne :)

Rainy day = perfect excuse to head to Yacht Haven for some shopping!
After trying on jewelry with price tags that I'd rather not even think about again, we both needed a drink...

Fat Turtle

I have no idea what the name is of this bar but they had swings for chairs, too cool!

Duffy's Love Shack

Molly Malones...aka locals hangout that was a prime people watching spot.

We had an amazinggg time & cannot wait to plan a trip back with our peeps!

Happy Friday everyone, xo.
